My birthday, Sarah's, and Daniel's all run within a three week period. Lots of pre-planning, good food, and fun times. My birthday was a big one this year, not sharing the number!

Movies By The Pool

I told Brian that if he wanted me to sit outside with him at night then this was what he needed to do to get me there. I don't think he is buying it though. Ho Hum...

Pink Toe Nails

Well, I guess I now believe Spring is here. Off with the Red nail polish and on with the Pink. Don't forget one must throw in the glitter. What's life without a little bit, okay a lot of glitter! :)

Here's a picture of Brian and I taken when we went to dinner at the Biltmore for Valentine's. Several months ago I told Brian I wanted one more opportunity to go out with him in his Formal Dress Blues before he retires. He wore them when we got married, so I have very fond memories of this outfit/uniform. He is so handsome in it! Thanks Babe.

GREAT Mail Day!

Today's mail brought some much anticipated online orders. My 365 Album Kit and 3, yes 3, Quickutz alphabets. I started the 365 Project where you take a picture a day and scrapbook it simply. When you are done you have a completed album of one year of your life from the most celebrated days to your everyday happenings. So far I am LOVING it!

The 3 QK alphabets were releases from Spring of last year. I wanted them then, but the prices were a little steep. I found them online for a great price: Exotic Island, Chopsticks, and Fiesta. I am so going to love them all.

It Really Looked A Lot Like CHRISTMAS

Our whole neighborhood put up lights and it looked beautiful. I could not resist taking this picture since it had rained and really reflected the lights. Hope everyone else's Christmas was Merry and BRIGHT!

Speaking of Disney

Well, I finally made it to see WallE this past week. Yes, he's cute and adorable and I did enjoy the movie, but there were too many messages in there for my brain to work on. There were so many I couldn't enjoy the beauty of the movie. I guess this means Disney is no longer making cartoons for me. ;)

Love Disney, But Where's Goofy?

I Love Disney, Disney, Disney! Sarah and I took off this past Tuesday, visited Disneyland on Wednesday, and drove back on home on Thursday. What an exhuasting and Great Day. We walked from our hotel at 8 AM to be at the gates when they opened. We did not return to our room until almost 11 PM. I have to say the Fireworks show at 9:30 was absolutely AWESOME! I get emotional every time I see a Disney firework display.

Scrapbooking Celebrity September

Wow! What a busy month for meeting scrapbooking celebrities! I started out the month meeting Becky Higgins at a book signing for her new Sketches book. (LOVE it!)

Then I took a class at CKC-Phoenix with Lisa Bearnson. This was my first time meeting her. She is so personable and warm. I really enjoyed the class, it was kind of laid back and easy to follow. I also took another Creating Keepsakes class taught by Emily Magleby, she is the Product Coordinator for CK magazine. She also has an article each month called Latest and Greatest.

Last and most certainly not least, Heidi Swapp. She was at a local scrapbook store (LSS) giving a demonstration and talk about some of her latest products and what inspires her. This was on Friday night and she was moving the following Monday to China.

I am not a big celebrity follower, but all these visits worked out during the month and my friend Anjanette was able to attend a couple of them with me. This was a really big bonus!

Rome Wasn't Built In A Day

It is hard to believe that we started this from a big pile of dirt. The stress and angst this has caused is unimaginable. I know it will be worth it in the end, I know it will be worth it in the end, I know it will be worth it in the end. (I guess it only worked for Dorthy?)

Best Buddies and Lifelong Friends

My friend Lisa, from my "old" neighborhood, was here in town for two days visiting her stepson. We recently got back in touch with each other and said that if either of us were near the other we would get together. Well, it's been nearly 23 years since we last saw each other and we finally met up. The year I moved, age 2, to our new house she was born. We became friends as soon as we could walk. We lost touch during our high school years, as she had moved away. Seeing Lisa again was better than any therapy available. I felt like I was recapturing a part of my youth. She remembers several of my family members who have since passed away. It was so wonderful reconnecting with someone who used to know me so well!

Let the Building Begin

I cannot believe that almost six months have gone by since we first signed papers for our house. They just poured the slab and the real nail-biting begins. We are all starting to get excited, because now it is a reality. We are finally going to have a home that we can paint, furnish, and re-model as we see fit. A big Happy Dance with a very nervous stomach.

Go SUNS!!!

Daniel and I at the Suns vs the Spurs game. Daniel is a sports nut and our deal is if he does better in school I will continue to get us tickets to sporting events. We showed our support of Steve Nash by wearing band-aids on our noses with his jersey number. He got head butted by one of the Spurs players in game 1 of the Playoffs with the Spurs. The Suns won that night, Game 2, 101 - 81!!!

Old Negatives

For Christmas I received a new Epson scanner. I have scanned a few items with it, but nothing I had originally wanted it for. That is until today. I inherited my Grandmother's slides and up until now had done nothing with them. Today I made my first attempts at restoring some family history. This is one of the pictures of my Norwegian Grandmother taken near her home in Minnesota. She was either in her late 40s or early 50s. I love how beautiful and stylish her clothing is. She was beautiful. Circa early 1950s.

Scary Kitty Morning

Our kitty, Tony the Tiger, showed signs of not feeling well yesterday. By 6 AM he was in a very bad way. We got him to the Vet at 7, and much to our relief, he only had a bladder infection which was fairly simple for them to take care of. So... $200 and a few hours later our kitty is home and doing much better!
